The Nature of Valle Camonica

Parks and Reserves of Valle Camonica

Exploring the Natural Enchantment of an Extraordinary Territory

Valle Camonica is above all nature.

Just think that protected areas constitute over 55% of the entire territory, extremely rich in alpine fauna and flora. True oases of peace, where you can immerse yourself in the rhythm and life of nature: these are the numerous national natural parks and reserves of Valle Camonica, which protect and safeguard the vast and rich alpine fauna and flora.

The Stelvio Park, the Adamello Park, the Rock Art Natural Reserve of Ceto, Cimbergo and Paspardo, the Valleys of Sant'Antonio, the Lake Moro Park... A protected area of 250,000 hectares, the largest in the Alps and among the most fascinating in Italy.

An itinerary through endless coniferous forests, which, climbing in altitude, give way to vast meadows, alpine pastures and even higher up to perpetual snow and ice. A suggestive landscape, among lakes and streams, where you can breathe the magic of nature, inhabited by deer, ibex, large birds of prey, marmots and for some years also by bears.

Designated by UNESCO on July 26, 2018 as a Biosphere Reserve "Valle Camonica - Alto Sebino", it extends for about 1,360 square kilometers from the Adamello glacier to Lake Iseo, involving the territory of 45 municipalities of the geographical Valle Camonica.
